THE HIGHER GROUND FAIR IS ON HIATUS FOR 2024
Don't worry, we'll be back, new and improved in 2025, with all of your favorite musicians, vendors, exhibitors, and animal action, plus more! Here's a little on why we are taking a break this year and how you can still be involved:
2024 has been the busiest year yet for Feeding Laramie Valley, the sponsor and producer of the Higher Ground Fair, with a big surge in the need for our services as the rate of food insecurity in Wyoming, and across the country, is on the rise. To meet this growing need, we have used our resources to prioritize essential programs and services this year.
Because the popularity of, and support for, the Higher Ground Fair continues to grow, its vision and scope require that we invest additional time in strengthening infrastructure and increasing funding and outreach to do justice to the mission of the fair. Consequently, we have decided to take a working hiatus from producing the fair in 2024 in order to build the sustainable foundation it now needs to move forward in a more dynamic way. These efforts include working with long-time performers, speakers, and vendors to create written and audiovisual reflections on what the Higher Ground Fair has accomplished so far and where it is headed next.
We have a five-year contract to keep the fair at our new location at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site - and an enthusiastic offer from the amazing staff there to help us expand our vision in any way they can - so stay tuned for a variety of ways long-time lovers of the Higher Ground Fair and newcomers to this unique event can help with ideas, volunteering, sponsoring, getting the word out, and more! We look forward to seeing you in 2025!
